Florence Delorez Griffith Joyner (1959 - 1998) was born and raised in California. She is known as Flo-Jo for being the fastest woman ever. She earned 3 gold medals and 1 silver during the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Her record of 10.49 seconds for the 100 m still stands today, as well as her record for the 200 at 21.34 seconds. Later she became the co-chair of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.
