Beautiful leaves of white, green, yellow, red and brown make up this top-grade Formosa Oriental Beauty oolong from Hsinchu County, in northwestern Taiwan. Highly oxidized, yet super smooth, the layered cup offers much to delight. Summer fruits like peach and nectarine, with a soft sweetness of honey and dwell in these leaves. Our Hsinchu Oriental Beauty bears a clean mouthfeel that gently reveals each nuance like an unfolding blossom and a slight mineral finish. Harvest: Summer 2019.
Oolong Tea | Moderate caffeine | Steep at 195° for 3 mins
Like a multi-colored blossom, Hsinchu Oriental sports white, green, yellow, red, and brown leaves. Grown in Hsinchu County, on the northwest side of the island of Taiwan, this oolong is aka Formosa Oriental Beauty. Expert processors ply their skills superbly, as they bow to the unique marriage of nature and craft when, as they begin firing, the wholly uninvited Leaf Hopper nibbles on the harvested pile of buds and upper two leaves. This initiates a singularly unique chemical reaction that contributes to this highly-oxidized tea's satiny mouth feel, stone fruit taste, and light mineral finish.
