Tom Cleary is tough as a horse, running enterprising schemes with anyone he can. His tea blend is equally bold with the bacon-cigar flavors of lapsang souchong. The body of the tea is buttery chestnut black, starchy and full like a stein of beer. A dash of blackberry tea adds some dark berry tartness and depth of character to this brash blend.

“ Lapsang souchong makes the scent of this blend very smoky, almost bacon-like, and makes the chestnut black tea seem almost like a greasy, buttery pairing. When brewed, the tea still has a smokey fragrance, but the taste is much more mellow. The blackberry tea gets a chance to shine in the brewed tea itself, adding another note to the blend: juicy, dark, sweet-tart berry along with the nutty chestnut. I'm impressed at how well this all blended and how well it sums up the rough and tumble but likable Tom Cleary. ”
