The song "Watermelon Crawl" chronicles a man who stops his roadtrip to visit a small town in Georgia after he spies a homemade sign for the Rhine County Watermelon Festival. The event has all the things you would imagine mandatory at such a festival including live music, a seed spitting contest, an melon eating contest, speech from the mayor and, naturally, a homemade wine made from watermelon fruit. The mayor encourages everyone to observe the no drinking and driving law and instead, remain at the festival and participate in a line dance dubbed "The Watermelon Crawl." The dance is fictional inspiration for the Tracy Byrd song but the festival is real.
