“ "The Cat", a She-Ra inspired tea blend, elicits mixed reactions. Opening reveals strong vanilla and caramel aromas, with brewed notes of orange, hibiscus, and ginger becoming prominent, and chocolate and caramel in the background. Many find the blend's balance lacking, with ginger and hibiscus sometimes overpowering other flavors. Sweeteners and cream alter the taste experience, either enhancing or conflicting with the blend's components. While the concept intrigues, responses vary widely, from appreciation of its complexity to disappointment over dominant ginger or mismatched flavors. Overall, "The Cat" presents a unique but controversial profile that fascinates as much as it divides. ”
“ The trouble when one writes a review based on a CommuniTEA packet is that the pouch may not be a true representation of the tea. This blend is a good example of that. My particular cup of tea tasted strongly of orange and tart hibiscus with nice, fresh ginger undertones becoming more noticeable as the tea cooled. A little rock sugar and some cooling time also helped coax the chocolate notes to peek out from under the bed (like a nervous cat) but any caramel flavoring was lost. The Cat doesn't make a bad cup of tea and it does have potential, but the flavors lack balance. Unfortunately, the power of Greyskull is not with this tea...at least not in my pouch. ”
“ The vanilla and caramel aromas were strong when the tea packet was opened. After brewing the orange and hibiscus were very strong. As the tea cooled ginger flavor was present with a hint of vanilla. The caramel and chocolate flavors stayed in the background. ”
“ I was greeted with a strong ginger aroma as I opened my CommuniTea packet. I love ginger, but backed off the steeping temperature just a bit in an attempt to let the other flavors have their moment to shine too. It seemed to have worked -- ginger still a big player but also orange/hibiscus and the sweetness of chocolate and vanilla. A nice blend! The black tea blends nicely with the flavors...no bitterness. 200F, 4 minutes. ”
“ All ingredients appeared to be present in my communiTEA packet. Ginger and orange aromas were moderate.
Steep info: 3.75 grams for 15 ¾ oz of water. Five minutes at 190°F.
When hot, moderate ginger flavors and zings were noted. Moderate black tea bitterness noted. Orange flavors were mild. I added a bit of sugar to bring out flavors.
When warm, ginger flavors were strong. Moderate orange flavors were noted. Tart hibiscus flavors were moderate. Mild dark cocoa, chocolate, vanilla, and caramel flavors were noted.
At finish, too much ginger and tart flavors overpowered everything else. (5 mins @ 190ºF, ⅜ tsp sugar) ”
