“ Milk oolong tea, frequently described as sunshine in a cup, offers a delicate, buttery taste without artificial flavors or bitterness. Reviewers celebrate its soft, smooth mouthfeel and absence of dry aftertaste, highlighting its soothing, wholesome quality. Though not for those seeking a bold flavor punch, its gentle roast nutty and floral aromas provide a pleasantly robust experience. The tea's uniquely rolled leaves unfurl beautifully upon brewing, offering a visual treat. Despite some finding it too mild or grassy, many appreciate its natural, creamy richness, likening it to a lighter, flavorful green tea. Ideal for multiple steepings, milk oolong stands out as a refined, subtly complex choice for tea enthusiasts. ”
“ One teaspoon of tightly rolled dark-green oolong tea was noted in my communiTEA packet. Since this tea is more dense than most, it actually weighs the same as 1.5 tsp of a less dense tea, 3 grams, which is plenty of tea to make a 12 oz steep. So on we went.
I steeped this tea 30 secs longer on the 1st steep to awaken the leaves. I did at 190ºF steep because my kettle doesn’t have a 195 button. The leaves opened up and danced for a beautiful display.
When hot, clean and crisp straw-like flavors were noted. A mild tingle was felt on my tongue.
When warm, roasted nutty flavors were moderate with mild green tea tastes noted in the background. Pleasantly mild buttery flavors were noted.
This was an enjoyable and robust flavored tea that had nice floral aromas. It had a clean taste that had a lingering and pleasant mouthfeel of flavors. An acceptable amount of astringency was noted towards finish. This one’s at least a three-steeper! (3g tea for a 12 oz cup, 1st steep: 3 mins 30 secs/Subsequent steeps: 3 mins @ 190ºF, no additions) ”
“ Sunshine in a cup. True to it's name, milk oolong tastes soft and buttery, but not artificially so. It's one of the few teas I've tasted that has absolutely no bitterness or dry aftertaste. If you want to be slapped in the face with flavor, this isn't the tea for you, but if you want something soothingly wholesome and delicate, look no further.

“ A buttery feel; watch the green leaves unfurling; delicious oolong! ”
“ First off, I love teas that unfurl as they steep. Fun to watch! Lovely sweet herbal scent as I opened the packet. Steeped for 2 minutes at 200F (my kettle doesn't have a 195 setting). I brought down the steep time a bit to avoid any grassy notes...it worked! Lovely, light green tea taste with sweet notes. I used to avoid green teas, but I think I was just brewing them wrong....too long, too high temp etc. I still prefer the stronger taste of black tea, but I'm beginning to appreciate green more and more. Nice cup of tea! Added to wishlist! :) ”
“ UPDATED from 1/26/21: Lovely fresh aroma emits from the tightly curled balls of leaves. Steeping allows the leaves to unfurl elegantly like dancers. The golden color reveals a flavor that is buttery smooth and rich. Like a geisha dancing with a fan, she is delicate - yet strong and graceful. Compelling and enticing, she graciously serves you, with a soothingly soft, discreet smile. With each additional steep, she sweetly opens more and more, like a flower revealing her inner beauty. She has much to give, so sit quietly and allow the calmness to fill you. (Multiple steeps 3 mins @195ºF). ”
