An ideal tea sweetener, these rock sugar crystals are sugar in its purest form. If you like your tea sweet, there's no better way to impart dulcet notes to your favorite cup. Adding a few rock sugar crystals will sweeten tea without distorting its flavor profile, pleasing both your sweet tooth and taste buds. Made in Belgium from natural sugar beets.

AI Bot Summary
based on most popular reviews
Rock sugar crystals receive rave reviews for their ability to sweeten tea without altering its flavor profile. Many appreciate their milder taste compared to white sugar and the aesthetic appeal they add to the tea-drinking experience. Some users have adopted the Iranian method of enjoying tea with sugar crystals, finding it enhances sweetness while minimizing sugar use. Others highlight their versatility and superior quality over other brands like Teavana. Although primarily praised for tea, they are noted to perform poorly in coffee. Adagio's rock sugar has loyal customers due to its consistent size, quality, and the unique sweetness it offers, making it a popular choice for enhancing the tea experience without overpowering it.

Tried rock sugar at Teavanna years ago and always liked it! Different taste to regular sugar for sure. I wouldn't say it goes with every tea, but it adds a lot for most I've had

Delicious! I use to have rock sugar much like this from another tea company that unfortunately no longer exists, so it was awesome to find a replacement. These sugar crystals add just the right amount of sweetness to a cup of tea, plus I love hearing that crackle they make when I drop them in. I admit, I may have nibbled a couple on their own and they are just as tasty without the tea as they are with.

This was an impulse buy out of curiosity. I typically use honey, not sugar, in my tea but thought this would be fun to test. I found that they are fine, perhaps more mild than regular sugar (good, in my opinion) and a solid option to honey when I'm using a tea bag and don't want the honey clinging to the bag. I can drop a couple crystals in, pour the hot water and drop in a teabag, especially when I'm using a to-go cup. Not sure I'd use them at home as honey is still my sweetener of choice. Update: It's been more than a year and I just am not using these crystals. They are pretty but really don't add the sweetness I enjoy with honey.

I love this Rock Sugar! It dissolves quickly and adds a deep sweetness to my hot teas. I'm drinking it right now with Masala Chai. So yummy!

Lore

Sugar crystals are widely used in India with aniseed as a mouth freshener, especially after meals. The two are often served alongside the check or bill in Indian restaurants. In Thailand, sugar crystals served the function of money, being easy to weight and divide into small increments. Sugar crystals were also used to make Sugar Skulls in Mexico to celebrate the Day of the Dead. Mexican children would make rock candy in the shapes of skulls by special strings and then decorate them with icing and jewels.
