Once the dominant tea-producing district in Taiwan, Maokong is a mountainous region that houses the Taipei Zoo and the Maokong Gondala, a fun and high-flying way to reach the moutaintop teahouses and restaurants. The air is clean and fresh-smelling, and on wet nights the buildings' lights glitter in the rain.
