AI Bot Summary
based on most popular reviews
The Citrus Mate tea has garnered mostly positive reactions for its vibrant and invigorating citrus flavor, making it a popular choice for starting the day with a natural energy boost. Reviewers commend its light, refreshing taste, both hot and cold, and appreciate the gentle sweetness and lack of bitterness, attributed to its smooth blend of grassy mate with lemony notes. While a few individuals expressed a muted citrus taste or personal preference against mate, the blend is generally praised for its unique flavor profile and the caffeine kick it provides. Adding a slice of orange or a touch of sweetener was suggested to enhance the citrusy experience. Despite some mixed feedback, many look forward to making this tea a regular part of their routine, highlighting its potential for both first-time mate drinkers and seasoned enthusiasts alike.

A very tasty tea blend, light and refreshing. It is delicious hot or cold. Just put the leaves in the Mate gourd added warm water, waited for about 6 minutes and enjoyed. Love the citrus zing too. Great tea to start the day.

8 Oct 21 communiTEA steeping notes: I awakened my mate with two tablespoons of cool water in my ingenuiTEA steeper for a few minutes and then added 160ºF steep water on top to reach my 150ºF goal. I only do a mate flavor awakening for the first steep.

13 Jul 2020 communiTEA review: I love sipping mates! I acquire different flavors the longer I drink it. This Citrus blend was no different. I added no sugar so I wouldn’t mask the mate flavors. Smooth grass, and hay tastes from the mate were soothing and refreshing. Any bitterness dies down a bit with an overall gentle sweetness noted. The citrus flavors were a little tart at first, but as the mate kicked in, that was lowered significantly. I know this was the second time in a couple of days that there was a Yerba mate CommuniTEA, but I really appreciated having another chance to develop my mate palate. Thank you for the natural energy boost and zing! (5 mins @ 150F)

I'm new to mate tea. I found the flavor to be green and earthy with mild citrus. I enjoyed it hot, but I think I liked it better as it cooled to room temp.

Ingredients & Lore

blended with yerba mate tea, orange, natural lemon flavor, natural orange flavor & marigold flowers

Citrus fruits include any number of fruits with rinds, segmented flesh, and strongly scented skin, such as lemons, limes, bergamot, pomelo, oranges, kumquats, and more. Depending on the variety, the flesh and rind may or may not be edible, while others are more valued for the zest or oils of their skins. Citrus flavors range from sweet to tart, and the shapes are generally circular or oblong (with rare exceptions like the multi-pronged Buddha's hand citron). In cooking they are valued for their ability to add tartness, sweetness, or brightness, the latter of which is showcased here.
