Coffee leaves tea, or "kuti," had been made in Ethiopia and Indonesia for centuries. It has an earthy, herbaceous flavor with notes of sweetgrass, similar to green tea. Coffee leaves contain more antioxidants than blueberries, chocolate or green tea.
When most people think of coffee, they imagine a specific mental picture. A steaming mug, a trip to their favorite coffee shop, or a tantalizing aroma wafting on the air. Unfortunately, for many, the thought of coffee brings another, less pleasant image to mind: caffeine jitters. The solution? Coffee leaves. Unlike coffee beans, coffee leaves are naturally low in caffeine. They are also high in antioxidants, and sport a grassier, less bitter flavor than coffee beans. Combine their softer tones with cozy chai flavors like cardamom and ginger, and you've got the perfect alternative to your morning cup of joe.
