295 days till Halloween 💜🎃💜 I didn't think i would end up posting today, but I'm too scared to sleep with the surgery tomorrow, I'm heartbroken about the fires in California, im seeing pictures of streets and places I know just reduced to ash and I'm so heartbroken. I can't quit thinking of my poor dear Uncle, and his beautiful community and hoping he has a home to return too. My picture today is of one of mine and, Jake's visits, on this particular, California adventure, we got to tour Nickelodeon studios and Jake proposed. Just under 24 hours ago we had to say goodbye to our eldest cat, Soyokaze Nimrodel. She came into my life about 16 years ago when she was only a week or two old and she adopted me on the spot. She leapt over the rainbow bridge with all of the sass and love in her heart and now she is cuddling with her big 'sister' Arashi until I see them again. We're utterly devastated as she gave us very little warning of how sick she really was. I may be a bit of a ghost for a little while. Know that I'm probably lurking and that I love you guys. Just feel like a ghost.

Yesterday was a busy day here with my brother's three kids coming to visit. Mostly, their teacher parents needed the break since they've had the kids underfoot for the past days with school out due to our snowy weather. (If the back roads get snowy/icy, there's no way for school buses to transport kids to & fro. Way too risky. There are usually snow days every year.) The kids were fun & energetic/rowdy. ;) I was also glad to return to calm and sanity afterwards though! ;) These kids happened with my brother's second marriage so I'm an older aunt for these sweet livelies. ;) And, here I am awake in the wee hours after only a few hours sleep like many adults my age! Our power also went off for about an hour before bedtime??? No idea what caused that. We are going to get more snowy/icy weather this weekend though. At least this time the road crews are going to do all they can beforehand since there's still snow from the last go round. I work the weekend 1st shift.

I hope you're stocked up on things you may need for the upcoming weather. We have some family in Missouri that had to resort to alternate places to stay because of extended power outages. Good morning, everyone! I took a leap and filed a dispute on the charges for those protection plans I never received. Mostly because my 1st payment went through, and I let them know I haven't received these items that they're expecting me to pay for, so the lady opened a dispute. The merchant responded REALLY fast. I was surprised. So hopefully we can get this resolved soon.

Adagio does such a good job! It’s been fun doing these tastings. The teas are good even if they are not your favorite kinds and they are just so pretty to look at! The honeybush apricot might be the honeybush/rooibos tea of choice to serve my rooibos tea loving friends. Very good!

The combination of 2 kinds of chocolate teas and honeybush apricot is just sooooo yummmy....I made this combination many years ago, so with Twyla Moonbeam blending creative skills, this blend will be delicious. :) yum!

The sun is shining today tea friends, but the wind chills are still very cold. The granite kitchen countertops are being installed today and the workers had to wait for the stone to warm up before cutting the opening for the kitchen sink, it’s that cold. I had the apricot black tea I have in my stash. I needed some caffeine, the cold makes me sluggish.

I'll tell ya what was surprisingly odd-- the Earthkeeper blend, iced. I have loved it as a hot tea with honey. But Iced--these floral notes came out & it was quite unusual. Alas, Soon enough, It shall be Spring again & time for Earth Day! We just gotta through Jan and the short month of Feb--and the Equinox in March will be here, bringing Vernal Fernal blessings!!

Twyla, I'm going to enjoy winter while it lasts. I always enjoy spring time when everything starts to sprout, unfortunately it's usually pretty short here and then the heat of Summer hits and I'm running around muttering for months until it cools off again. First day back in person at work today (allowed to work from home over winter break, then snow) and we started off the morning with a delayed soup and salad social! It was “fun” getting everything in the building in one trip from the third floor of a parking garage in 6 degree weather! But the event itself was legit fun and a huge success so worth it. And bonus, it was so cold out we just took all our leftovers to our cars instead trying to Jenga the fridges! I made a lasagna soup, an orange jello salad and brought in GF bread. Had some salad left but everything else was gobbled up!

I’m having a cup of Festivus for the Rest of Us this afternoon, and it’s delicious! I won it on Adagio’s spin the wheel before Christmas and I was very pleased to receive a sample tin jam-packed with goodness! The flavors are chocolate and orange, and it reminds me of one of those dark chocolate orange balls that you thwack on the counter to break it into wedges - this tea is like that. I had only had it from a single packet from a CT box before, but this time it seemed so much more flavorful. I think maybe my taste buds are changing on some things.
