Up early as usual as GusGus declared a potty emergency. Took care of that, came back upstairs and started an experiment with my decaf teas. I need to sip more decaf. I have lots of red and green rooibos options in my tea stash, but I tend to always grab the decaf ceylon, decaf blueberry or strawberry black tea options. So I'm on a mission to make some blends to start drinking my other decaf/low caffeine options. I had two unopened bags of Teaster Marshmallow (Easter tea) in the tea stash and wanted to blend it with something. It's good and a lovely decaf option....but if I had two unopened bags marked 2022 and 2023, I just haven't been sipping it. So I tried a couple cups of it blended with other green rooibos teas from my stash....then tried a cup of White Chocolate Peppermint and Teaster combined. That was the overall winner -- It's lovely! So I combined the two in a repurposed holiday tea tin (used to hold candy cane tea bags)....that makes it one sealed bag of Teaster Marshmallow left and a tin of White Chocolate Peppermint Teaster to sip down. I'm going to call that DDTS progress. :) I need to start making a point of sipping my decaf options! :) I might go every other cup during the day is decaf to cycle through my rooibos options. I'm also going to try Teaster with White Toasted Coconut and see what that's like. 2 am tea experiments lol

Sounds like a tasty combination you found. Teaster with White Toasted Coconut sounds even better. I also have a large amount of non-caffeinated teas that are getting ignored mostly. That’s a great idea to alternate cups during the day of caffeinated and non-caffeinated. I’m going to start doing that.

The toasted coconut with Teaster was really good! So I mixed my other bag of Teaster into the tin with that one too :) Working to cycle through my tins and actually drink my tea, so now those two blends will be in the mix. I think I will move things around in my cabinet so decaf teas in tins are all in one spot. Teaster is excellent cold brewed too. I think I will start a couple pitchers of cold brew tea today to try and sip down some more. Work in progress!!

My cold brews don't seem to come out as tasty as hot brewing and then chilling, but that's how I use most of my herbal teas and some decafs. I drink much more cold than hot if I have it ready. When it's cold out, I tend to stick to hot teas. Thanks for the reminder to get back to making some chilled tea up.

I'm trying to decide if I need to light my odor candle to help eliminate the scent that is currently taking over my house. Yesterday I toasted/roasted flour in the oven for a new recipe for gumbo to celebrate Mardi Gras on Tuesday. The aroma took over the entire house and won't leave. It's sort of popcorn, but nearing burnt popcorn. There's a nuttiness to it, but it's hard to describe. I don't think I like it

Sometimes the smell itself isn't bad, it is the not being able to get away from it, try the candle or open the windows for a bit (cold air clean out!)

To get smells out of my house, I make a little simmer pot of any of the following: half of any citrus fruit, spices like cinnamon, cloves, star anise, ginger slices, splash of vinegar. Add water to cover a simmer away on the stove all day. Just don’t let it go dry! Good luck!

And good morning, everyone! Can you believe it's been exactly 1 year since we got Titus? He was so small, dirty, sick... And now he's a big, strong, handsome kitty man. He's worked through so much anxiety, he's learned not to bite me constantly, he finally doesn't hyperventilate all the time... I am SO proud of him for how far he's come. He is by far the most challenging cat I've ever had. I am used to adult cats, not kittens or young cats. But he has also made me a better person along the way, and I am so grateful to have him. We love Titus so much! ❤️

Oh wow I really like todays tea! I now know why nearly everyone here chomps at the bit for it to come out. Super tasty. Lol not gonna lie, I picked the sprinkles out to put in the cup after brewing. It gives it a pop of color and is cute to see. However, I only had two sprinkles in my packet, hope the bags have a wee bit more in them.

The bags should. The little pouches often don't get the sprinkles at all as they have to be prepared fairly well in advance...Plus, in such a small serving it's often difficult to get a balanced representation of the tea. This is especially true when it comes to signature blends.

Hi Andrea - As of April, I believe that they are no longer putting fandom blends in the CommuniTEA boxes. Cursed Tea was a fandom blend, so will not be on April 1st. If you look at the rest of the month, there are no Fandom blends there. I think Earth Keeper is technically a fandom blend, but it's made in house and the creator is Adagio and not a regular customer.

Well, yesterday and today haven't gone as I had hoped. I have a friend visiting from IL in 10 days and I have a lot to do to prepare for her visit. I'm not much of a housekeeper 😂 I am super excited for the visit, I've only met her once before but we video chat frequently and we talk online nearly daily. Anyway for the change up, my 6yr old sibling cats Ryan and Piper have decided that they cannot be around each other. They also don't like the dogs much so had been living in our converted garage. I went to see them yesterday and my giant boy cat Ryan was hissing and in a corner covered in his own waste. I gave him a bathe and gave him a look over, everything feels and seems okay. Same with Piper, they were just at the vet and got a good bill of health. Both are eating and using the litter box but when I was out there Piper came aggressively at Ryan at least once. There is a third cat (she's ancient) Bitty and no one seems to have a problem with her nor does she have a problem with them. I have a 4 ft. By 4 ft dog run we used to keep our renal failure cats while they ate and kept Ryan in there over night, but he's been in the house, in my room all day and I can't seem to get much of the cleaning done.

Also, this is totally new, they were best friends, Ryan always snuggling her, they literally were always sharing their bed

As always, an enjoyable cup of tea. I tend to drink teas with chocolate sporadically, so I still have most of the Irish Stout I bought last year still in my stash. So between that and my goal to DDTS while participating in the TOTD, I don't think I'll be buying more this year, but it does make for a good cup of tea.
