Though the timing is horrid, that house will give us more space that we desperately need. 6 people in 2k sqft is not super great. Good morning!! :) Happy Saturday! GusGus woke me up 3 times overnight begging to go outside, so of course I got up each time, put my shoes on, went down 3 flights of stairs, walked him, back up 3 flights of stairs, shoes off, back to bed...... after the last trip, I was just unable to go back to sleep. I hope everyone had a wonderful valentines yesterday. My hubby and I did, as we each gifted our favorite things and ate at our favorite restaurant (one of two days out of the year where I know I don’t have to cook 😂). As for today’s tea, I am currently drinking Masala Chai. This one really had me swing back to a childhood memory that wasn’t pleasant, but I trucked passed the trigger and took a sip anyway. I was maybe 8 years old when I had my very first experience with a tooth cavity. Mom didn’t make much money, and Dad was the breadwinner but could only afford health insurance on everyone. Mom’s remedy was clove powder in and on top of the affected tooth…and talk about YUCK! I had to do this for about a week before dad could get me into a dentist to pull it (it wasn’t and adult tooth and it wasn’t salvageable). So just the smell of clove would make me cringe which is exactly what this tea smells like 😂. Now, pushing past that memory and diving into this tea I was so very surprised at the complex build of flavors and while I could taste a little clove, it was more of an accent than that dreadful childhood association I have with clove. The cinnamon is what draws me in. Oh so delicious 😋. I don’t think I would buy this to sip often, but if it came back my way in a sample or monthly box I would drink it again. Believe it or not it was effective in dulling the toothache, but it was very nasty. I figured that if there was other ingredients than clove then there was a chance it may not be straight up traumatizing 😂. It was worth it 😁

When I was little, my mom believed soap in the mouth wasn’t healthy (probably right TBH), so if I said a bad word, I had to swish straight vinegar for 30 seconds. A) I did not swear much as a child and B) except for pickles, I could not stand anything with vinegar at all until after college. I still don’t like salt and vinegar potato chips

My goodness that would put me off of sweating and anything vinegar heavy too. The smell alone would have me running as fast as I could. Another thing my mom would use is Vicks when we were sick and slather it on front to back and put clothes on us. I was miserable already from being sick, adding that practically pickled me and made my clothes stick to me. I would cry and hide (or just plain try to mask my symptoms) when I saw her with that horrible little blue jar of torture 😬.

I cold steeped a big jar of hibiscus petals recently. Love it! Sometimes with just a touch of sweetener, sometimes I’m more in the mood for a heavy squeeze of agave.

Hmm. Today's tea is OK. Maybe because I steeped it on the longer side (5 minutes), I think I get more of the tea flavor than the chocolate flavor. Sweetening it might help.

Thank you Pearl so much for this recommendation. I brewed this tea a few minutes ago. Took a sip and didn't like it. Added some sweetener, it helped a little but still not a pleasant cup of tea. Came here to make my rating and post a comment in the chat and saw your response to James. Decided it couldn't make the tea any worse so I added a splash of heavy cream to the cup of tea and it completely changed this tea from a blah tea to an enjoyable cup. I agree it does make it taste richer.
