How everybody has a great day! I ate my weight in Dungeness crab today after seeing some harbour seals and adding more bird species to my life list. Then I found a tea made from a berry bush that grows here in Alaska. Can't wait to try it! We are easily leaving Alaska, and will be in port in Victoria, BC tomorrow evening before heading back. Looking forward to seeing our pups again, though, and catching up with everyone here! Have a great day!

Victoria is an interesting place! We did a Haunted Victoria excursion when we were there in 2007 or 2008. The only thing I didn't like was the seagulls used the top of the cruise terminal as a rookery. It had been raining, and oh did it stink!

Up late tonight :) Just not tired yet. I'm catching up on What We Do in the Shadows on Hulu. :) Took GusGus out for his middle of the night potty and now he's full of himself. We have a big 3 part sectional couch. He will run all around on the couch...side to side, across the back of the long section, back to the other side several times...then go to the far side where I can see him from my desk. He always stops and looks at me....that's my cue to make some sort of gibberish noise that implies I am out to get him and wave my hands around.....and that sets off the next round of couch zoomies. Occasionally if he's feeling particularly rambunctious it's an all over the apartment zoomie fest that includes the run of the couch, down onto the floor, through my bedroom up onto the bed, back down to the floor, down the hallway, through my son's room, and back down the hall and all over the couch again. Usually lasts about 3-4 zoomie rounds until he's worn out. He finished all that nonsense, got himself a drink of water, and he's back on my bed looking out the window. I have a seriously weird (but cute) dog. :)

In the time it's taken me to reach out to 28 apartments, Stephen found 1... that I'd already reached out to. 🤣 I've already scheduled 6 tours, and of course I have to let him know because he has to drive me, and he was literally amazed at how much I'd done in just 2 days. 🤣 Another funny was - a particular property I reached out to doesn't "do" tours, you just have to apply and be surprised apparently. Oh, and they also do a sliding scale of how much rent they charge. Hahaha! Nooo wayyy! 😂

We moved 3 times in one year once (not across country though). It's kind of a long story but it all started out because Hubby's job at the time moved us. Ultimately, it was all for the best and we love where we're at but I wouldn't recommend so many moves in such a short amount of time. Ha ha.

He loved going to the vet (yes, he was a nut), so he was doing his happy chirp as we carried him up their walkway. Happiest of birthdays, Mary and Jenn! If the tea on your birthday is a fortune for the year ahead of you, zippy cha-cha is fun... And a little more introspective than I anticipated! I'm particularly drawn to the three ingredients of chamomile, peppermint, and lemongrass mirroring cha-cha's iconic rhythm. Any of those three would be delicious paired with another, and in life we often think in terms of perfect pairings and dynamic duos. But the cha-cha (whether a tea or a dance) is made more lively and exciting by embracing a literal odd number of things, whether they're ingredients or beats. I'm reading today's tea as a joyful rejection of limiting beliefs and false dichotomies. Do you have to choose? Do you really need less? Wouldn't it be delightful if everything were included, if it all worked together? Modern life is a LOT sometimes, and I think we, justifiably, often focus on paring down, decluttering, doing less. But cha-cha suggests that this may be a year to put that work to the side for a bit and see what happens when you embrace a little more! My tea is here! My tea is here! :) Sipping a cup of White Zombie, a fandom tea for the Bela Lugosi classic monster movie. It's a lovely blend of peach teas. So happy to finally have the large tin. It's been on my wish list a long time! Threw in a slice of fresh lemon and sipping it hot. I will have to cold brew next....peach teas are so good iced! I am curious to hear from people who auto subscribe to CT and those who buy it monthly why you do it the way you do. I have had it on auto for awhile now but this month I think I am just gonna order the box and then add item I need/want to get to free shipping and probably this months promotion. There wasn't enough I liked enough to buy last month to add to get those items, if that makes sense

I had the subscription active for probably the first year-ish, but now buy month-to-month. It gives me a chance to pick up refills on regulars I'm low on, or try something new, and take advantage of sales/offers when I can. I made the switch when I noticed I was often paying for shipping twice in a month. That being said... It also made my tea-buying habit much worse! When I go into DDTS mode, I'll probably swap back to the actual subscription, to cut down on the temptation to throw just one or two more bags into the monthly order.

Is anyone else reading along with Dracula Daily this year? For those who don't know about it, it's an email newsletter where you'll read the entirety of Bram Stoker's Dracula, piece by piece, over the course of months. The novel itself is written as a series of letters and diary entries, all of which are dated. Each bit of the book is sent out on the day it was "written" in the world of the novel, starting today and running through the very end of the book in November. It's a fun way to read a classic for the first time, or revisit it, so I highly recommend it for this bookish group!

Today has been a great tea day! My first cup was Tiffany’s Earl of Coconut Isles, which was very tasty. Here’s the link https://www.adagio.com/211147.
