Whether needed to wash down a full Scottish breakfast or to warm your bones after a walk on the misty moors, our Scottish Breakfast tea will do the trick. Richly blended with Assam, Keemun, Yunnan, and Sri Lankan full-leaf teas, you'll get a deep cup with malty notes, red fruitiness, hints of smoke and a touch of Yunnan pepperiness. Straight up or with a splash of cream, Scottish Breakfast is also a fine companion for your overdue Robbie Burns indulgence: "O, my Luve is like a red, red rose, That's newly sprung in June. O, my Luve is like the melody, That's sweetly played in tune."

AI Bot Summary
based on most popular reviews
Scottish Breakfast Tea garners universal acclaim for its intricate blend of flavors, combining the earthiness of Keemun Concerto, the sweetness of Assam Melody, and the crisp finish of Ceylon Sonata, with a touch of Yunnan Jig's golden, chocolaty notes. Its complexity and smoothness, even without cream, alongside its versatile pairing with foods, earn it a staple status in many cupboards. Preferred steeping methods and the addition of sweeteners reveal its malty, slightly smoky essence and chocolate undertones. Enthusiasts celebrate its bold yet balanced profile, making it a beloved choice for morning routines and an adventurous dive into traditional Scottish flavors.

Updated review 12/7/24: Decided to revisit this one in hopes I would like it more, now that I have more of an appreciation for black tea. Really, it is still pretty 'meh' to me. Way prefer Keemun/English Breakfast.

Old review:This was very 'meh' to me. Just tasted like black tea--a little malty and a pretty reddish brown color--but nothing special.

I really enjoyed this tea! At first I was uncertain as to whether of not I would, as it was very strong, however, once I added a bit of sugar (approximately 1.33 tsp of Adagio tea/rock sugar) and about 1 TBS of Silk Vanilla Almond Non-Dairy Coffee creamer it was perfect and it will have a permanent place in my breakfast tea stash. 5 stars from me.

Being a lover of Yunnans and Irish Breakfast, decided to give this Scottish Breakfast a try in the sample size. Well dang! This is right up my alley with the malty and rich flavor profile I prefer. It's smoother and less astringent than the Irish Breakfast. This will be a reorder, and likely one of my go-to's, along with the fabulous Yunnun Noir.

Hands down one of my favorite teas on this site. Rich, full bodied and nuanced, it is my go to tea for waking up in the morning. I wish it was an option for making tea blends, because it has a lovely backbone to stand up to flavors nicely. The bit of Yunnan peppery edge on the back end makes this a wonderful cuppa to wake up with, or a bracing mid afternoon pick me up. absolutely one of my all time favorites

A solid choice for a stout morning cup. Strong and black and delightful with a splash of milk.

Ingredients & Lore

blended with assam melody tea, keemun concerto tea, yunnan jig tea & ceylon sonata tea

Sir Sean Connery may be Scotland's most iconic actor. From playing the original on screen James Bond (a role he played seven times) to Indiana Jones' father Henry in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade to Robin Hood and more, he's been labeled "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure" and "The Greatest Living Scot." Breakfast teas, while perhaps less likely to be seen on Hollywood's red carpet, are equally famous amongst tea aficionados. Typically named English, Irish, or Scottish Breakfast, they are all known for their strength and durability against a hearty breakfast, with Scottish usually being the hardiest.
